Dynamo 5 disobeyed Maddie's orders and traveled to Washington, DC to rescue Slingshot's father, who was being held by a group of men who wanted Slingshot to use her powers to free one of their employees from F.L.A.G. custody. While the team rescued Mr. Lewis, Maddie and Visionary's mother remained at The Aquarium, which came under attack by a group comprised of Dynamo 5's enemies, led by Widowmaker, the woman who killed Captain Dynamo. Against Maddie's protestations, Visionary's mother offered to reveal how the jump station works if Widowmaker guaranteed Visionary's safety. Widowmaker agreed, and as Dynamo 5 prepared to jump back to The Aquarium, Widowmaker and her team stood ready to ambush them.
